Odd, my previous blogg seems to have mutated into a Yorkshire Dialect!

As promised, now the crazyness of last week is past some new pictures.

In the Street People Album there are some new photos of the Toxic Investigation Team since they have gained a new member. In addition there is now a Toxic Environment Assault Team to back them up. These new figures are from the Australian company of Eureka Miniatures. I brought these once I saw how nice the unit on Geronimo's Gallery were. Some very nice sculpts.

In the Cutthroats Album we have a nice mix of varied low-lifes and oppourtunists, including an Oriental unit. Mixed into some of these units are some pirate figures by Black Scorpion Miniatures, the first I've finished.

Not entirely happy with the photos. I brought myself a light tent and am still experimenting with the best lighting arrangement and other factors.

More effective (so far) is the right-angle viewfinder adapter that arrived on Saturday. My tripod is only a couple of feet high and figures tend to be photographed on a coffee table, which means that sometimes I have to sit on the floor to take photos or get into some odd contortions. A right-angle adapter seemed like a good idea but the Nikon model was £200! -nearly as much as the camera had cost!

It occured to me after a while that something might be on ebay so I did a search. A company in Hong Kong offered a generic model for £15 + £10 post. Worth a risk I thought and just over a week later it arrived. The make is "Fusen" and given the characters on the box and location of the seller I'm guessing is made in china. It came with various adapters for different models of camera. The D40 isn't specifically mentioned in the packaging but the rectangular Nikon adapter for the D50/D70 etc fits perfectly once you take the rubber bit off the view-finder. Nice item, much easier to use if wearing glasses or if not since it has a greater range of independent focusing. There is also a x2 option that increases view (although this obviously has no effect on the actual picture size). Probably a more useful feature is the eyepeice rotates a full 360 degrees, which allows it to be kept lens down when not in use and avoids dust.
