Crop Thumbnail
A fantastic feature of this site! This allows you to choose what part of your picture is used for the thumbnail.

Note; the Crop Thumbnail tool is a java applet, so your system needs to have java installed in order for it to work.

Please crop your thumbnails to show the face or the best representative part of your picture.

The site crops all thumbnails to Square by default.

The tool cannot crop thumbnails for pictures that are too large. So, if you get "error loading image," use the Custom Thumbnail feature on the General tab instead.

Go into the Edit Photo area either by using the dropdown menu or the edit link at the bottom of the picture. Click the Crop Thumbnail tab to bring up the tool.

A java applet will load; you may need to click on the picture to activate the tool.

Go down to the Aspect Ratio section. Select "Square 1x1" from the dropdown list. It doesn't matter if it says portrait or landscape.

Click the little square in the lower right corner of the blue frame to resize the crop area. If the blue box turns red, your thumbnail will be too small.

Drag the blue frame about to select which area you want to appear in the thumbnail.

Hit the "crop" button, and you're done!
