Vehicles and Vikings

Submitted by uncle phil on

Oh boy!

57 newly uploaded photos! That is a record for me.

I've re-photographed some of the models from the last upload. Tinkered with the camera settings a bit and have started using a Depth of Field calculator program. I've added a link to that program on my Photographing Miniatures Tutorial.

18" from the lens at f13 and 45mm seems to work pretty good for single figures and those in a single rank. Cranking down to 30mm and keeping the other values about the same seemed to work well for the vehicles, although I noticed that where I focused on the vehicle could have an effect, so may be a higher f/number or smaller focal length next time.

Some new vikings added. Warning, contains scenes of full frontal male nudity and men with big choppers and aggressively presented shafts!

The other major upload is a album of vehicles

Vintage Predator[G2:22092]

Razorback

[G2:22103]

Rhino

[G2:22076]

Vindicators

[G2:22062][G2:22119]

and the Grey Knight Pilgrim

[G2:22138]

More info later, but I'm exhausted!

Great work, Phil, on everything, but especially the vehicles :)

How did you do the mud around the tracks and lower hulls?

I've just added a description of how I weathered these vehicles to the tutorials section.

Basically it is just drybrushing with a big drybrush and theree successive colours -Bestial Brown, Snakebite Leather and Bleached Bone.
