This is the present I painted for my Mum for Christmas. Painting it took me right up to the wire, so I wasn't able to get proper photos - these were taken with my sister's iPhone in an obviously make-shift setup on Mum's dining room table.
I'm fairly pleased with it and Mum thought it was great, and I don't think I've seen another one of these painted apart from the two studio versions on the Newbold website.
The only thing to note is that Newbold call it a Dracophant - I call it a Dragophant, but that doesn't really matter when you're facing a beastie of this size!!
I shall endevour to get some better photos if I can talk my Mum into lending it back to me :)

I like that meso-primordial vegetation you have going for terrain there...
What a weird piece! Looks like it was fun to paint, great job!

I wanted something slightly odd looking, but not too much of it - that is why I went with some weird clumping railway foliage, but not too much of it ;) It looks a lot less like a turd in real life LOL
It was quite fun to paint, except after finishing it for the first time in the evening before seeing my Mother, I dropped the damn thing, bending the tail, ears and tusks and causing the paint to flake. I then had to bend back and re-do all of these bits again in the evening before I could varnish and give it to Mum the next day. That's the main reason I didn't get any good photos of the beast.
