Very nice Keeper. Your Uncle-in Law is a very lucky man.

One thing I do notice is that the patterns on the shields make the zulus very difficult to pick out in the photos, possibly since the ground has so many patches of bare earth. Lighter earth might have helped, and that would be authentic for sun baked african plains

I've no experience painting 6mm but may be you can get too detailed? Disruptive patterns/cammo can be a problem in 28mm.

That is awesome, what a cool gift!

I get the feeling that it looks way better in person, very hard to get a good photo of that subject. I should come visit and give it a try with my camera!!

A very nice display piece, though.

Yeah, you're right Cheddar - photographing 6mm minis is not easy! Even the manufacturer's photos, which are pretty good, aren't quite what we normally expect from 28mm mini photos: https://www.baccus6mm.com/includes/products/colonial/british_range.php

It does look better in person - as you said. The zulus are just easier to pick out - a bit like they're easier to see in the first two photos, but I guess that just shows that zulus blend in well to their surroundings ;)

So, this is one of the Christmas presents that I am giving this year, to my wife's Uncle, who is well into his Zulu war stuff.

It is supposed to be a section of the northen mealie bag wall at the drift which was subject to the second zulu attack of the encounter. I've used 6mm sized figures from [url=http://www.baccus6mm.com]Baccus6mm[/url]. Details aren't perfect - and the grass is a little on the green side, I think, but overall I'm really quite pleased with the way its come out.

Overall size of the piece is about 4" by 6" (although I've not measured it exactly).
