Like a hole in the head. And... a head.

Let's see how this blog thing goes. Ta for the space, Big Cheese!

When GW bought the LotR license I was interested. Then I fell for the general antipathy (and my own opinion of the movies) and hated it. That gradually moved to disinterest, indifference, and back to interest again.

Some time ago I chopped a list of roughly fourteen forces - for different games - down to four:

 • 40K: Tyranids
 • WHFB: Ogre Kingdoms
 • Epic: AdMech Titan Legion
 • Warmaster: High Elves

...and I'm still struggling with motivation and my slow building process. I still haven't enough of a force to play any game with.
Despite resistance, by last Wednesday the list had tentatively crept up to seven again, including:

 • A godzilla nid swarm
 • Epic IG, composed of moonlighting Admech with new armour
 • A return to Kroot Mercs (but who can resist them?)

The last thing I need is to accumulate more armies.
Yesterday (Thursday) I walked out of GW Belfast with a shiny new box of Riders of Rohan.

Blame Tolkein. He described them too well, and played on my liking for reckless, doomed cavalry charges.

Edit: the first step!

In other news: I got a mail order too. A hive tyrant head and some zoanthrope spines. It's for this.
The only progess I made was to sculpt over the join between torso and tail, and bulk up the neck. Thinking about it five years later, I figured my sculpting skills and confidence were much better, broke it up, and decided bits needed updating, too.
The unusual thing about the order was that the dispatch date was 8th of October '07, four months ago. Not GW's fault - it had arrived on time, but I'd completely forgotten about it, let alone forgot to ask about it! It'd still be lying around in the back room if one of the redshirts hadn't been rummaging around this week.
