Bit of a minor landmark this weekend! Finally finished the final Marine Tactical Squad. This is significant since I vowed that I'd not start on any of the more interesting units until these guys were done. As a bonus this also led to me finishing another pair of devastators, since it made sense to paint all three laser cannon gunners at once.
Rather than being a chore I found myself really enjoying finishing these marines, so I ended up experimenting with a few things not done with the other squads, such as highlighting the red and buff coloured sections of the armour and various other minor detailing.
..and after all that build up I forgot to bring the group shot of the squad in, so for now you'll just have to make do with the squad leader and a bolt gunner!
Some new additions over in the Cutthroats album too. Remember how I mentioned I'd finished all the pirates? Well several of the models in the "Legends of the High Seas" book looked so nice I just had to buy some and I'm working through those at the moment. Added today are some photos of the "Wanton Woman" and "Cannonball Pete". I've also taken some better photos of the Gnar and erased the old ones.
