I subscribe to the Mini-Painter Yahoo Group, and a painting newbie asked about how people set up their work area for painting.
So, I figured I'd contribute.
Here's the latest version of my painting table, pardon the mess!!

Here we see an old computer desk, with a drawer tray screwed to the keyboard drawer to hold tools, a flatware basket from a dishwasher to hold more tools, (Ignore my blackberry!!), a modified Games Workshop paint station, a block to hold my Pewter Pops (see tutorial), a brush tub, a wet palette, a Robard Paint Shaker, extra hands, my dremel tool (and safety glasses), a couple of laptops, a rolly-cart for paints, supplies, tools, and bits, and my lamps.
The setup is in my family room, so I can be among people! :cm
Where do you paint?

My workspace
I use a paint station almost exclusively now. It is stored on a shelf out of the reach of little fingers and brought down once those little fingers are in bed. I usually work either at the dining room table, or from a side table in front of my armchair (we've got a through-lounge diner anyway, so it is all the same room).

This photo was taken earlier this year, but I've still not finished that Giant, yet!
I've also got a garage full of tools and games and unpainting minis (and a few hundred painted ones, too!)
Small table, Giant mini!
You should be able to discern the Marauder Giant on my painting table, too! Stage Left. So, it's a race, at a snail's pace!
Looks like that painting station is being put to some good use there!
One small step for man ...
Yeah - one of the best Christmas present I had last year was my paint station! :)
On my table right now are BB Halflings and BB Undead as well as a few remaining BB Orcs and BB Beastmen; Space Marines (28mm & 6mm); Mauruader Giant; Newbold Dargophant; and some Orks that are in need of proper basing.
I'm hoping to try and get some motivation together to finish the Giant early next year, but you'll know when I'm done because I'll post a pic ;)
my work desk is an unused
my work desk is an unused bedroom turned hobby room ;) it's quite messy right now, got lots of stuff on the go. There is an old dinner table in there too which was meant for gaming but my dad has taken it over painting his stuff.
here's and picture of my desk taken a few months ago, it's got some makeshift shelves now at the back for paints and half painted stuff, but i still can't anything lol

An oldie, but a goodie...
Might be time to hook up those lights and unpack those unpainted miniatures!
