Inquisitors make their own rules Smiling And have a long tradition of using alien tech. Figure is supposed to be Rogue Trader era so pretty certain that it wasn't intended to be Tau.

It IS an odd looking weapon. Seems to be between a lasgun and a chainsword. I think it is supposed to be a Power Sword.
