This afternoon, for the Sheffield Irregulars' monthly competition themed 'Duel', I painted The World's Smallest Wargame, which was the free entry miniature for the Newark Irregulars' Partizan 2007 show.
It is two 6mm wargamers playing an even smaller wargame! These armies on the tabletop have got to be the smallest armies I've ever painted!!

In that case I'd appreciate a photo tutorial of how it should be done correctly! ;)

I don't do historicals -perhaps when I've painted all my other figures I'll have time :D
too good?
Thinking about it, I think your entry would have done better in the competition if you had made it clearer these were 6mm. I'm probably not the only one who looked at the photos and assumed they were average painted 28mm figures, rather than macro-photographed and very well painted 6mm.
Don't know the result yet.
Don't know the result yet. Got some mixed feedback, but a lot of people don't even seem to be aware you can get 6mm figures, let alone have seen some.
I do need to work on my tiny photography, but these are the best and most consistent 6mm photos I've even taken! Which is enough for this piece, as I've made progress :)

It may be the quality of the photography that is the problem, ironically. You've managed to make 6mm figures look like 28mm, so people are not realizing what a skillful paint job you have done.
I think you're right.
I think you're right, Phil :) Nevermind, I like them :D
The funniest thing I found painting this piece was that I also recently purchased a number of flat artists brushes for painting terrain. A couple of these brushes are wider than the whole thing!
