The week of May 6, 2007 will be lots of fun painting-wise. Yeah, I'm a big over-extended, but my stripping jar is standing by for the anticipated disasters.

Hireling Wizard is still in progress, but I think I'm gonna finish him off within the next few minutes. I'm not quite as optimistic about the norse shaman, but I cleaned him up a bit. I've also started up on Ghonad, the Halfling Barbarian by Heresy.
The next bunch represents my grand experiment and a couple of challenges. I'm trying "zenithal priming," meaning prime with black, blast with white to simulate the light source, to help me place the highlights. I think this is how my friend Matt does such great and quick paint jobs, so I'll give it a try; we'll see how that works out!
On the sticks:

Heresy Miniatures Captain Nathan

Dark Sword Beastmaster

Wizards of the Coast Neblin, Gnome Illusionist

A couple of vintage Warhammer barbarians

Dark Sword Hawkman (for the Custom Hobby Hawkman Challenge)

Black Scorpion Mad Hatter (for my challenge with Alrith72 on the Forum of Doom)
I've finally finished the Hireling Wizard. He's a riot of color. Somehow, I feel that something is missing, but he'll do for now. I'm looking foward to more sculpts by Mike Thorpe! I'll post pictures tonight; I have to spray him down with dullcote.

The zenithal primer experiment was a miserable failure; all of those models are in the stripping jar!! :lunk
